Family Tree

ian cameron

This wee straggly family of Scots pine at the edge of Loch A Chroisg I have a particular fondness for. The single track road that connected Achnasheen and Kinlochewe had been widened to motorway proportions and I feared it would be the little trees death knell, fortunately not they are still there and on this occasion there was a thick freezing fog and two inches of hoar frost covering everything. A pretty special day and it looked so much better in black and white.NEW!! Photographic workshops and masterclasses at TRANSIENT LIGHT.

Hi Ian, did you shoot them under different light before? I think I saw this family some time (a couple of years) ago. This one is another masterpiece. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Henry

I did indeed, twice before infact, previously as horizontals, one in winter garb, a light frost with a breathtaking reflection, actually my personal favourite shot that I've ever taken, though the processing on it was quite appalling and again in summer in a coat of finest green.

Hi, Ian. This shot is great. When I first saw it I thought, "Oh he's brought these trees into a studio." I think its the graduated grey background that gives the effect. The subject is great. I can just imagine the big tree ushering the children, "Come along". I think in this respect you've also managed to catch a little humour from the landscape.

Congrats.
