Guest Guest Posted May 24, 2009 Wow, I love the pose here! And also the colors...very striking image. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the expression on her face...I can't decide what the mood there is. You are doing some wonderful things with your creativity, Cowboy! Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted May 24, 2009 Thanks so much, Kim. As for the expression... Think, High Chaparral: John Cannon and the ranch hands are still gone - their days of absence are stacking up and the young lady staying with them on the ranch in the middle of the Sonoran desert is restless, lonely, and impatient for their return - well at least Manolito's return. Anyway, as the sun is setting it's clear they aren't going to make it on this day either... Did you ever watch High Chaparral? I always enjoyed it and Victoria Cannon was hot. All that said, that's the expression here; "Another Day of Waiting..." Of course, this is a modern version. I don't know that a scene like this ever existed but it's what I thought of when I took this photo. (I think she is contemplating a 24" x 36" print and it looked much better before I reduced it for PN.) It's a melancholy, wistful look of disappointment but with hope for tomorrow still in tact... Did that help any? (LOL) It could probably be a scene from the Ponderosa, too. I just can't picture her waiting like this for Hoss or Little Joe and she'd run from Pernell Roberts, I'm sure! Glad for your visit and I hope you're having a good Memorial Day weekend. Finally getting some rain here. ~Sky Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted May 25, 2009 That helps a lot, and makes her expression look better:) I watched Bonanza and Gunsmoke. And Hoss was my favorite! There was something adorable about him:~) After hearing your explanation, I wonder how this would look with an old sepia treatment for period flavor? Link to comment
sheryl_w__blue_mt._ 0 Posted May 25, 2009 lovely model... I like the peachy orange red color which compliment her beautiful warm hair tones.... Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted May 26, 2009 Glad that helped, Kim. I know a picture is supposed to be worth a 1000 words. Perhaps this one needed the lonesome desert in the BG. I'll have to try a sepia look. I'd love to make a sepia print available to buy. I wanted wooden rails but this was my only option; however, some PS work could make it possible. Hoss was a great character. I hated when I heard ol'e Dan had passed away. He made the show. Gunsmoke was great, too. Miss Kitty would have never resorted to this kind of display... well maybe for Matt; she might have. Glad for your visit and ideas. ~Sky -------------------------------------------------- Hi Sheryl, Good to see you. Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like it. She designed this dress herself and made it. Indeed, it is very pretty. ~Sky Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 28, 2009 She designed and made it? wow, some people are so talented! Miss Kitty, ah yes...I never could figure out why she and Matt didn't just get married:~) Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted May 28, 2009 Yep, she designed it and made it. ---------------- Kitty and Matt? Hummm, perhaps it was a matter of trust... No, I think they were both married to their jobs. ~Sky Link to comment
gungajim 75 Posted July 3, 2009 Looks like she is about to dive into trouble of some sort! The model aside, I really like the technique you used to create the border, however you did it. GJ Link to comment
