Guest Guest Posted May 23, 2009 I was focusing through other grasses, trying for the soft muted effect. Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted May 23, 2009 Beautiful job. Makes me want to grab my camera and head outside to just sit and watch the bees buzz and grass grow... and maybe take a photo or two. (Then God gives us fire ants to keep us from staying in one place too long.) ~Sky Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 24, 2009 Plain old black ants do that for me...I sure hope your fire ants don't move north! It's been pouring rain today....that means more flowers this week:~) Link to comment
margaret1 0 Posted May 24, 2009 Kim, this is delightful. You did get the softness of spring in this. It looks like a pastel. Beautiful image. We have the red ants. I hope they NEVER make it up your way. Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted May 24, 2009 Red ants, fire ants, black ants, and two or three other varieties at least. I have to watch where I sit. I like the red (Harvester ants) they're fun to watch but painful. The fire ants are hellish. They cover you in an instant if you are'nt careful. They seem to be a definate plague. We are finishing with our bluebonnets and now the indian blankets are pretty thick and the cactus flowers are in full bloom. I intended to go out today and get some shots of them but we've gotten some nice rain here as well. I guess I need to get some shut-eye. BTW, I explained that expression for you but don't go read it unless you have a lot of time. Goodnight, ~Sky Link to comment

J. Perez 0 Posted May 24, 2009 Absolutely gorgeous pastel colors on both of these close-ups. DId you do anything in post processing to the background or is the bokeh of this lens that beautiful? Cheers, J Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 25, 2009 Thank you Margaret, Leo, and J! J, I took this at 2.8, which is why it's so soft. I love that 100mm macro. All I did in editing was bump the brightness and contrast a little. Sky, get some photos of those gorgeous flowers before they're gone! And I'm glad you're getting rain; you guys really needed it I guess. And the rest....:~) Link to comment
elktooth 0 Posted June 5, 2009 This is one of my favorites. It looks like a painting. A wonderful work of art. Link to comment
