Hi Pierre, Thank you for your critiques/comments on some of my images. Very lovely image and lady to work with. The softness of the colors are perfect for the soft effect you are going for. The tone of her skin is excellent!

I wish that the end of her nose hadn't disappeared. I'm not saying that it should be all there, just a bit more there to keep the profile of the face. Because the whole image is very high key the little triangle at the bottom where her sweater caused a shadow is a bit distracting. On the ear there seems to be some small bits of brightness, you might consider editing those. Did you edit some of her shoulder out, below her chin? The shoulder doesn't look rounded. It sounds a bit like I'm picking on you, but please be assured I have the best intentions in mind. .....Sherle

Pierre: Lovely portrait and fine treatment. Excellent emphasis on the eyes. Warm regards...

Thank you all for your visit my friends!

Sherle, you're quite right about everything you said! I tried to emphasize a bit the end of the nose but without success. The shoulder has also vanished and I will now try to correct at least that! Thank you for being a good critic!

P.S. I did it and I think it is now OK! That on the ear is an earing! Maybe I should return it to the previous look, before the diffuse glow applying!

Pierre...Thanks to you I have started to play with the diffuse glow feature...This image really caught my eye...I like it the way it is...Having her turn her head towards the camera would have solved the problem of her nose and eye converging with the background...but that to is nit picking...Her beauty more than makes up for it...I think you honored her well!...Juan

Fabulous model and fabulous presentation! :)

Micki F. [subscriber] , April 07, 2008; 05:18 P.M.

I agree this softness is what makes this picture

so many people try to make things sharp sharp sharp but you have mastered the soft here. The colors are just perfect and the turn of her head is perfect.

Stefano Anghileri , April 08, 2008; 03:25 P.M.

Very well done... yes the softness is everything in this pic

Leanna Weber , April 08, 2008; 08:31 P.M.

A very delicate portrait, Pierre, with just the right amount of emphasis on the eyes so that it is riveting, yet still quite subtle. I am impressed!

Very nice treatment, Pierre. I'd like to have seen a bit more space in direction of the intense gaze but that's personal preference. Well done.

Donald,

It was a snap shot in the corridor of her (and mine) school, she was back lit cause she was on the large window and I used a pocket camera and used the fill in flash! After that I made it as it si now, some glow effect, I don't remember the whole name of it!

Great Image

I would never guess this for a snapshot as you have described. Great instincts and an awesome capture Pierre

Pierre Dumas [Frequent poster] , July 09, 2008; 08:25 A.M. (edit | delete)

Welcome Rick!

Look, it wasn't exactly a snap shot, I told her how to pose, turn around like this and look there and don't move until I say so! I still consider it a snap shot because it lasted one minute for five shots!

Thank you for the comment and the very pleasing for me ratings, ha!

Beautiful!!!

One of the best pics I ever saw...the gradual disappearnce of the face in to the whitelight is magical.

There are many great pieces in your collection, and this one especially caught my eye, but it appears I am not alone! The softness and simultaneous intensity are engaging. Thanks also for your comment on my work. All the best. Tony.

Thanks for your graceful comment at my pic.

I really love yours, esp. this one. Apart from diffuse glow, what more are needed to transform the photo?

Thanks.

Fantastic Portrait of a very beautiful model. The post processing here is superb and very symathetic to her youth good looks. Great contrast between the eyes / mouth and the rest of her face. Top job Pierre.

I like the overall "look and feel" of the image (not to mention the lovely model !). However, I am slightly uneasy with the red tint that remains in the lips that, IMHO, conflicts with the grey/greenish tint of the sweater and cap. But, hey, it's lovely nonetheless.
