A picture taken outside the forbidden city, just on the right side of the meridian (south) gate. I was fascinated by all the people just enjoying the day, outside in the sun. Pictures from the inside are lost because of some pickpocket's strange fascination over my vacation photo's.Again, don't mind the dust particles... bad scanner

Just say what you think, the comment on the side explains the

situation a little...

Just people enjoying the sun, actually

the wall with all of the people sitting at regular intervals, but the wall of trees on the left is distracting. If you crop this image to create almost a vertical with just the wall and the people with minimal trees for some balance, then this image would be better.

It might be better with someone closer in the forground. Though it could be the scanner, do you think this photo is overexposed? I have a similar shot of this walkway and the red from the wall is much more saturated; I was using color neg film too. Shot from a lower angle might give a more unusual perspective. Hope this helps...

I think what makes the picture interesting is the visual stand-off between the people and the trees. The "red" wall, solid and stoic, backing the smaller army against the march of the trees -the picture has depth. Could it be shot differently? Sure, but it wasn't. A nice image.

very intriguing and involving image. plenty of eye motion to keep me interested. definitely an image that I could return to again and again, each time discovering something new. It's a wonderful combination of strong verticals with the trees, strong yet soft horizontals with the shadows, both of which are juxtaposed with the randomness/complexity of the people, the wall shadows and tonality, and the leaves.

I would separate myself from some serious $ to have this on my wall.
