I like what you did here TB. Technically good job and well composed with the exception of that one thumb that goes over her forehead. I like the black space on the top. Even though it's empty, it creates a great weight on her shoulders. Very nice.

oooo boy! Run! This is a very powerfull photo. Its like something from "She" -- as in she who must be obeyed. I cannot look at this for very long. The grain makes it look like she is coming up out the grave or something. Probably been reading too much sci-fi. This photo definitely stresses me! I believe it would have been even more stressfull if I could see her feet with dirt grains on them and maybe the slight outline of a grave behind her. God, I am being morbid. But that is what this photo does to me.

Interesting . . . My first impulse is to crop the top and wish for the thumb to not block her face, as Scott says, but the impact is still there, so these 'flaws' must not be all that significant. I suspect the framing is due in part to possible DOF problems if you got closer.

If I had the chance to do something like this - which is way outside what I usuallly do - I think I'd ask her to slowly change her hands and facial expression while I fired off a roll.

So my question is, do you have some others from the roll to show us? I'd be very interested in knowing how you approached this project.

Thanks, Scott, for the heads up.

Welcome to my brain. LOL ;) What a kick in the pants! I love her!!!!! You found a Fury. (Look her and her sisters up in your mythology text -) Paint. That was genuis. I like the black space but i am curious of how she would look if we could see just a tight shot of her. More of a furrow to the brow. The thumb in front of her works....to me at least it makes sense. Any how thank you for sharing your vision. I really like it.

just like i like my nudes-dark, dusty, and scary as hell! really though, fantastic job-both in idea and the conveying of the mood you wanted(or at least what i think you wanted).

oh yeah, and if anyone cares or is paying any attention to the rediculousness of late as far as presentation goes, THIS is what a border that enhances an image looks like. notice the lack of the over, over, over-done, tacky-ass, look ma i got a compooter with picture werks hallmark cardesque drop shadow border in 10 seconds feature...

I think this series is brilliant. I like the use of the large black background and the white figure. I think I like this the most due to the intensity of expression though the face is mask like and the eyes are unseen. Very strong.
