The 2 small centralized dark trees taken too much attention. Not bad but the composition can imo be improved.

One of the better digital IR images I've seen. Wonderful tonality.

I've been impressed with the quality of many digital IR images I've seen on this site, and this is another fine example. I'd disagree with Alex's contention that they are superior to traditional IR film, however. This landscape suffers from a problem I've seen with other digital IR images, namely bleached highlights. Possibly this is just a result of careless 'curves' control or excessive contrast in Photoshop, but I suspect good old Kodak High Speed Infrared will still provide you a better tonal range to start with. The real measure of superiority will show when you produce a 16x12" print from a digital camera and compare it to an emulsion-based image. That said, the convenience of digital IR justifies its popularity and if it allows folks to experiment with new ways of seeing the world, all well and good. Compositionally, I'd agree with Marc (who doesn't need to shoot landscapes to be qualified to judge them) in that the stubby central shrubs form too strong a focal point. But short of employing a chainsaw, I think Rachel has done as well as she could with this scene and the result is certainly very attractive.

Fine image but imo not as refined as a film based IR photo. Agree with Trevor regarding the washed out highlights and again that the convenience is too hard to resist when compared to what you have to do to take a film based IR or for that matter a UV photo. Handsome shot Rachel, good work, Brad

I disagree with Marc about the two shrubs. IMO they give strength to the pic. I would however, crop out the shrubs in the bottom forground. Very good.
