erik hansen photography 0 Posted December 18, 2002 i generally don't like stories behind photographs, but i think this one is helped by it... in the summer of 2001 i went on a cross country tour with a s.f. band named dilute. it was their first major tour. this shot was taken in detroit, about halfway through the trip. at this point they had played a number of bad shows in a row: small crowds that gave little or no response, poor cd/merchandise sales, etc. shortly after loading everything into a small club (that turned out to be a dive bar) in detroit they sat down to wait around till show time. at this point they had gotten used to me shooting pictures of them so i was able to get this natural, unposed shot of what the rock and roll life can be like... jon w. 0 Posted July 31, 2004 A very expressive shot, which we are obviously meant to contrast to the classic rock iconography of groups of young men inter-relating intensely and purposefully whilst on stage. Link to comment
