Got my hands on a macro lens recently (60mm f/2.8) and this is one of

my first few attempts. Comments and critiques appreciated.

First attempt working with a macro, great work! Your new lens will open new opportunities to see the macro world, enjoy it!

Congrats on the new lens. You will notice the tiny depth of field with macros - The trick is to use a flash on a cable - or a ring flash and set your lens to f16 or smaller aperture. Notice how the highlight on your shot is in focus but the iris is not - this is due to the tiny DOF - try flash - you will be amazed.
