secondsight 0 Posted December 10, 2002 You've captured some beautiful warm tones here. The doorway almost looks surreal. I have no idea what the kids are doing but it almost doesn't matter. Good job. Link to comment
stevemontanino 0 Posted December 10, 2002 Actually it does remind me of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe A very nice feel to this photo. Good Tones, excellent colors. Pretty interesting over all. Good Job here. Link to comment
xandao1980 0 Posted December 10, 2002 Beautiful light. Is it the film you used or that´s the natural light?.Either way it worked beatifully... Nice composition also...thank you Link to comment
pargman 0 Posted December 10, 2002 You chose a nice exposure for this shot - the colors are so warm and friendly. It certainly looks like a moment taken from the middle of an adventure. Accompanied by a good caption, this would make a fabulous journalistic photo, something you would see in National Geographic. Great work! Link to comment
john_moran 0 Posted December 11, 2002 I haven't commented on a photo on photo.net in a long time, but there's no way I can't not (yes, double negative, I appologize) here! This is beautiful. Congrats! Link to comment
g1 0 Posted December 11, 2002 With the doorway just in the distance, you get the feeling these boys are in some kind of secret garden. The golden glow is just divine, and the boys seem so carefree. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted December 11, 2002 One of your greatest shots, Darrin. And very glad to discover you in this site! Link to comment

el gaveeno 0 Posted December 11, 2002 the interesting lighting, the superb composition, the door in the distance at the end of the path, and the enigma of what these boys are up to come together to create a really amazing shot....great job darrin Link to comment

shutterbear 0 Posted December 12, 2002 This reminds me of the GOOD times I had as a youth. You have cpatured what most of us try to achieve. Great tones. Excellent picture. Link to comment
trevor_hopkins 0 Posted December 12, 2002 This is very beautiful. You say no PS was involved, but the image does look as though it's had some brushstroke treatment. Maybe it's the limited d.o.f. & digital noise, but whether intentional or accidental the painterly quality is quite special. My only misgiving is with the two lads; certainly the image would be less interesting without a human presence, but it seems unfortunate that in such an exotic location the only subjects available were these two slovenly youths, apparently smoking. It's a pity you couldn't have borrowed one of Bart Aldrich's obliging monks to complement such an enchanting view. Link to comment
chris_higdon 0 Posted December 13, 2002 Absolutely beautiful. It leaves me wanting to know more. Link to comment

megan_marocco1 0 Posted December 14, 2002 I must reiterate what everyone else has stated: Beautiful lighting, composition, colors...It almost looks like a painting. Link to comment
niranjn 0 Posted December 16, 2002 Agree with previous commenters that this picture needs a human figure (or two), but not these guys. A child would have been perfect. Even with these two guys, many stories can be constructed. Otherwise, a truly excellent capture of light. Link to comment
patricia_basha 0 Posted December 16, 2002 Light quality somewhere between Turner and Vermeer. You've managed to capture perfectly two separate exposures, one before and one after the doorway, inside and out: it has the elegance of b+w and the immediacy of color. Do you have more photos available here? Link to comment
vvazquez 0 Posted December 16, 2002 Incredible saturation of colours, composition and contents... Link to comment
