Totally uninspiring! Lack of interest may be because there is lack of color.

Thanks for that comment James. I totally agree with you; though the thought hadn't occurred to me before, it really rings true now. It's great to get a honest opinion, thanks again.

Focus and dof is pretty good, but there is nothing to hold the viewer`s interest. There is an old saying that still holds true, "some things make a picture, and some things don`t". This one don`t.

Hi Dale. The previous comments are true, however I still find the subject of sufficient interest to merit working on the image and making the best out of it. I converted to black and white, this turns the eye on structure as opposed to colour which was lacking in the original. Some pictures don't work in colour but work very well in monochrome. I also cropped the top part which wasn't contributing anything to the composition and darkened the surrounding foliage and edges to focus the eye more on the  subject. A bit of contrast was also added to give some more lift. I hope this helps a bit.  Best regards and wishes!
