A beautiful sunset at Binalong Bay.

Good work on the colour repetition of the clouds and onto the rocks. Exciting warm landscape.

A 'classy' sunset landscape

Jef has it right, this is a classy image. It is such a simple, elegant, and straightforward sunset image and yet there is not a thing to complain about or pick at.

 

I love the peachy lichens on the rocks mirroring the shape of the peach hued clouds above. Simply divine.

I would say this is no better than an average image for your portfolio. The sky is obviously the feature attraction of the image and I would have liked to see more of that and less of the rocks in the foreground, which I find somewhat uninspiring. Also, the rocks on the far right side of the middle ground just about intersect with the horizon line and they both have similar tones and it is a bit distracting. I am not sure if you could have improved on the placement of the rocks on the left side of the image, but they run up over the horizion line and into a bit of the clouds, which I find compositionally confusing. Of course, I wasn't there - but it seems like if you could have shot the image from higher up and zoomed out a bit - it would have helped. I hope you find this critique useful as I am a big fan of your work.

Michael I appreciate your comment. I was limited by equipment rather than the landscape here. Broken tripod head meaning I had to let the camera rest in a position held up by my nose - good enough for a second or two exposure.

Wow, That's a heck of a decent enough critique - but minor compositional points aside, it's still a really nice image with great light. I like it.
