dallalb 0 Posted April 25, 2009 I like the color version for the warm light tone, but I did a B&W version, too (see the attachments below in the page): what do you prefer and why? Thank you if you would spend a little time to watch this photo and leave me a sincere comment or a critique. Link to comment
glaucodattini 0 Posted April 25, 2009 Bella sia per la composizione che per la luce dorata, per cui ho apprezzato entrambe le versioni. Max and my compliments! Link to comment
fabrizio_r 0 Posted April 25, 2009 Bello il taglio, la luce e gli splendidi colori, un abella immagine Alberto! Ciao, Fabrizio Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted April 26, 2009 Prefer the color version as the b&w lacks the tonal richness present here. The differential glow of the sky and the light patch on the grass beyond the trees just doesn't communicate in the b&w to the extent it does here. Link to comment
joaniep 0 Posted April 28, 2009 they are both very nice , but I like the color better . Wonderful shades of green . Link to comment
PeterKrenek 26 Posted May 4, 2009 A well executed shot with difficult lighting conditions, IMO. I am surprised by the exposure latitude you got here with Velvia 100F. I shoot the film and would expect much higher contrasts. Did you postprocess to enhance the shadows ? Is this a single frame or a blend ? Best wishes. Peter Link to comment
dallalb 0 Posted May 5, 2009 Hi Peter! Thank you for your comment. You are a good film shooter and you did an interesting observation. Yes, Velvia 100F has a narrow exposure latitude, but I didn't employ special techniques for this shot: it's a single frame shot, scanned and edited to enhance the contrast of the details only. I was surprised too of the details I was able to get both in the shadows and in the highlights, because I know the limitations of this film. I took this shot in fully manual mode, using my EOS 3 spot meter and setting exposure increments by 1/3 stop to be more accurate as possible on the field. All the best, Alberto. Link to comment
