jcg23 0 Posted April 19, 2009 So why did I make this image, its not my usual landscape image, but i found it quite interesting to make I liked it for its unusual viewpoint, I like the juxtaposition of planes in space that appear flat, a flat space of green and red tucked in on the edge. The red far away is a no no if you want to suggest depth as it comes out at you first...and using such a bright colour on the edge is a major no no if you want someone to explore the inside of the image. I liked doing these no nos as I wanted to make an image that puzzled more than described... an object far away that comes out to you first and 3D objects that appear flat such as the tree and lawn intrigued me. The shadows do help though and enable the viewer to work out whats going on... so what is 'average' about the image... I think the 4,4's are because the viewers don't 'like' it... how can I tell? I can only guess .... Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted April 21, 2009 Jane, this image makes me want to interact with it. I think it is interesting that the flower bed seems to be a "slice" of the ground, and should be moved over. I like the different shapes together. Very nice capture. Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted May 19, 2009 First of all, I'm not sure that any explanation from you was necessary; however, that is your prerogative. Secondly, this is a terrific intimate landscape, of which I am most fond. This has a touch of abstraction and whimsy, i.e., with the triangular spot of red at top. Well seen, captured, and processed. Thanks for sharing! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
