pascalb 0 Posted April 14, 2009 Do you find technical image quality satisfying? What about composition? Link to comment
jerrymat 5 Posted April 17, 2009 Certainly an interesting subject and your exposure and tonality are good. I would like to see it sharper in focus by your using a different f/stop to get greater depth-of-field. Using a square crop tends to make you place the subject dead center rather than in a stronger compositional arrangement. Many articles on composition can be found on the web. I strongly suggest you not put a black frame around a color picture as it usually has a very negative effect upon the color. Some books on color theory discuss this under the topic of "simultaneous contrast." Just as an experiment, try making a frame with one of the browns of the insect and making a thin inner frame line with one of the pictures light, bright colors. You will see a great difference.
