sergey-afanasyev 0 Posted April 12, 2009 What a peaceful scene! Sheer calmness. But don't you think that any object in the foreground would make the composition stronger? Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted April 12, 2009 The absence of any scale makes this special. Mysterious. Love it Link to comment
gerrymorgan 0 Posted April 12, 2009 Very nice. It makes me think of Sugimoto's seascapes, but with more going on -- you have lines on the landscape and clouds in the sky to direct the viewer's eye. Link to comment
mikestacey 0 Posted April 13, 2009 Thanks all for your much appreciated thoughts. This and a set of 6 other B&W images finally approach a level of representation I've been working away at for some time. The B&W helps with abstraction and pushes the image into an area which is very difficult with colour. Sergey, the presence of something tangible would alter the image in a large way and take it into an area which I was trying hard to move away from. Having said that, I do have one image in this set with a piece of tumbleweed in it and it has a very different feel. Thanks. the rest of the set at: http://www.mikestacey.com Link to comment
