sjmurray 34,196 Posted December 2, 2002 This was a great idea. I love the colors contrasting with the gray stones. I have to admit I am a bit uneasy with the composition. Maybe my eye wants to see something at the top, where the sidewalk goes. Also, for this to work, the print would have to be very sharp from top to bottom, in my opinion. Did you try some other compositions of this scene? Link to comment
peter_lorincz 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Hi Steve, thanks your comment. Yes, I tried some other composition, the end of this alley is not too spectacular so I cropped it. Anyway I like the "not normally", unusual composition.Would you see the original picture? Link to comment
niranjn 0 Posted December 2, 2002 Peter, While I would have liked to see the shot trail away into infinity, the composition is still effective, because there is more tension in this version. The lines are good, the color is good and the texture of the walls is good. Very little not to like! The picture is not tack sharp on my monitor, BTW. Link to comment
zachary_hamm 0 Posted December 26, 2002 This almost has the look of a handcolored b&w photograph. Nice Link to comment
dvm 0 Posted December 29, 2002 I like the idea of "leaves river" (get my 2 penny for your title search). It also shows good technical execution. The only thing that disturbs me here - it is too soft for my taste. Link to comment
pampolin 1 Posted January 3, 2003 Pet, the contrast between colors are very nice, but I didn't understand why this cropping! When you crop on top you killed the perspective. Link to comment
