What a wonderful title, Linda.

Just a quick comment on your bio., Linda.

You said: "I love the deep south, although I often envy other photographers who are lucky enough to travel to exotic places". Well, I will have you know that to us Canadians, the deep South IS an exotic place. :-)

Such a LOVELY shot, full of life and color a kaeidoscope of color and movement that seeks to, but fails to, freeze the moment of childhood.

On a personal note, Gabriel had his first ride on a carousel just last wekk, and, let us say, it was not a jolly experience, as he kept asking me to stop it so he could get off. Next time, I'll try riding with him.

Michael,

it is funny that you bring that up. as i was posting some of my Mardi Gras Indians images, i was thinking that maybe my corner of the world is not so mundane after all. :-) although i live in a small town 50 miles from New Orleans, that city can certainly be considered exotic. i guess it is time to update my bio.

Emmanuel,

i can't believe how big Gabriel is getting! he must be around two now. at ages 10 and 16, my daughters continue to delight, amaze and frustrate me. what a trip parenting is!

Great shot and especially great use of color and tone to convey an almost hand-tinted nostalgia, like something out of an old MGM print before it was restored. This one makes my favorites.
