jerrymat 5 Posted April 5, 2009 I love your idea but I believe you have hurt your idea with the composition. Ask yourself, what element of the image is the strongest? I argue it is her face, with closed eyes - we know that the dreaming takes place in that mind hidden away in her skull. But where is that important element placed? Answer: tight up, wedged into a corner of the picture - almost crowded out. Even her hair is cut off. Almost everything I have ever learned about composition suggests this is a very weak place to put it. Link to comment

fabrizio_r 0 Posted April 5, 2009 Hallo Cristina, you had a very good idea and i like it, just would try to set this photo lil bit less high key, just a bit, anyway a good shot, ciao Fabrizio Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 4 Posted April 6, 2009 I have to disagree with Jerry - IMHO this original composition is as much about her arms and the consoling self-hugging. The face naturally grabs attention and so has to pushed off into the corner to achieve a balance of attention. I also think the high-key near-monochrome print works well to show that the sensuality is emotional rather than physical. All in all, an interesting and elegant picture.Best wishes, Jonathan Link to comment

JPPhoto1664880217 7 Posted March 19, 2011 The emotional impact of this image is quite high. I particularly like how the hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes create a strong tonal contrast that brings the viewer back to her face. Everything works together to keep the viewers eye moving and enhances the sensual/dream context. Kudos to both you and the model. Jim Phelps Link to comment
