acarodp 0 Posted April 4, 2009 This a repost of a photo I posted for critique I think in 2006, with adifferent postproduction. It has always been one of my favoriteimages, but it is also a difficult image, due to the strong contrastsand the presence of some things (the leaves in the center) which I didnot manage to get quite right. It is also true that back then I was atthe very beginning of my experience with digital, and mypostproduction capabilities were quite rudimentary. I alwayswanted to reconsider it, but never found time... until now. Let meknow what you think, I will attach the former version for comparison. Thanks! L. Link to comment

acarodp 0 Posted April 5, 2009 Meir I was young and naive back then ;-)... Apart from jokes, I agree. If I look at it now, it looks just bad. I'm not sure, but it is quite likely that I had no calibrated monitor yet, which might be part of the problem. Still, I'm not completely satisfied by the new one. michaellinder 16,613 Posted April 6, 2009 This version has a much improved tonal range. For whatever it's worth, I view the tree branch and leaves as creating some cognitive dissonance on the viewer's part, to the point at which the viewer is further drawn to thhe subject. Outstanding photograph! michael Link to comment
