Evening Flight: Sandhill Cranes

I waited and waited for the cranes to come to the pond. The sun had

gone down, the moon was up and finally several pairs arrived and then

more and more. Eventually the racket was on full volume.

Very nice. The composition, exposure, use of terrain for framing, silhouetting -- it all comes together. The time you spent waiting for this one was not wasted.

The silhouette of the bird is beautiful against that sky... Great composition and a shoot with a calm and romantic feel to it... Worth waiting for I think...
