gauthier 0 Posted November 29, 2002 Err... it's original. But how does that coloring serve the subject or the mood? Looks rather gratuitious and what's left is a rather ordinary picture. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted December 17, 2002 Toby, my PS skills are shocking! So, I am not one to comment on your end result here... However, I think that you probably could have chosen a more interesting subject for experimentation... What was your intention in reworking this...? Link to comment
toby_tyler 0 Posted December 19, 2002 This cemetry in Walhalla is very strategically positioned on the side of a steep hill and is prominent in the small township. The original shot wasn't that good, but I liked the strong feel the two trees gave as if they were sentinels and the high aspect giving a feel of depth to the shot. I played in PS a bit to try to give the shot an unnatural, surreal feel. To me this has been achieved by the cool protective green contrasting with the distant, aggressive threatening red. Like the scene in the movie "Beelejuice" where the souls of the dead couldn't leave the sanctuary of house, the green served this purpose. A little deep, I know. I was interested in the responses, to guage whether the shot conveyed the above message. I don't think it did, and probably failed for this reason. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted February 13, 2003 Hi, Toby... Interesting to read your explanation... Yes, I also think this failed. But now that I know what you were going for, what do you think about posting the original on this page ? That way, we could maybe try to see whether there's a way to achieve what you tried to achieve... Regards. Link to comment
