gunnar 0 Posted March 31, 2009 It was an overcast and extremely windy day on Kangaroo Island. About one hour before sunset, a small break in the clouds started to appear just over the horizon, so I decided to chance it and stay until sunset. The wind was extremely strong, it nearly blew my tripod over twice. Just after I had set up, rain set in. I ended up covering the camera with a waterproof rucksack cover, and then waited. Suddenly, the first rays of sunlight broke through the clouds. As it was still raining, there was this brilliant rainbow, and after I took this first shot, I already felt the hour spent in the wind and rain had been rewarded. After every shot, I had to check the lens for rain drops and wipe them off, since the rain was coming from the direction of the rainbow. This was one invigorating experience for me, not so for my wife and kids, who spent the hour in our (very spacious) car. Thanks for your patience - this picture is dedicated to you.
