jairorodriguez 0 Posted July 11, 2009 Taken at Pike's place in Seattle, where a bunch of street musicians play every day. Comments and ratings are appreciated! Thanks!! Jairo Link to comment
mike_stemberg 40 Posted July 12, 2009 Wonderful street scene! All the people in the frame, their postures, looks or expressions could not have been planned any better! Production wise, I think this might appear to be a mite too over-sharpened, which imparts an 'edgy' feel, but it still remains a superb 'street-shot'. Link to comment
jairorodriguez 0 Posted July 12, 2009 Thanks for all your feedback on this one! Mike, thanks for bringing up the sharpening issue. I've processed different versions of this shot and for this specific one, I just wanted to give it an old-looking appearance, quite over-sharpening and giving it a grainy finish. IMO, street shots usually look quite boring right out of the camera. What do you think? I hope the image processing adds to recreate the atmosphere at the market. Jairo Link to comment
chyt 0 Posted July 12, 2009 hello jairo. excellent capture reflecting the essence of that street. but i agree with mike...i think the sharpening is a bit too overwhelming. it's not neccessarily making the picture look as old as you wanted it to be. maybe you need to add a bit more noise to replicate a higher ISO? but overall a great shot!!! love it! cheers Link to comment
jtipton 0 Posted July 14, 2009 Thanks for the comment in my portfolio. This is a great picture and for the record, I think over sharpening this a little was a great idea. It needs to be a little edgy, your talking about the home of grunge. Take care-Jim Link to comment
ivan stanic 0 Posted July 27, 2009 Really great one! It is hard to picture the real feeling of the place with so many cars and so many busy people crwling all over.. but you did it. The right frame in the perfect moment. So many stories, so many interactions, you can almost hear them singing and playing... and you can not stop wandering what are the other guys are talking about, all of them in perfect positions and the clothes...you could not stage it better! I'm not sure about the sharpening, but I would definetely darken the upper right corner. Link to comment
