jonckel 0 Posted June 25, 2001 What a great photo. The lighting is wonderful and the composition is good. The added bonus and the kicker is the swirl in the stream. Really puts it all over the edge and transforms the shot. Link to comment
jarrod_connerty 0 Posted June 25, 2001 great shot, james. I love how the sense of motion is quite static at the frame's bottom but becomes more apparent as you move up. By the time you approach the first dropoff there's no more sky reflection, indicating lots of movement. My only technical complaint is that you lost some detail in the sky and the darkest shadows of the rocks don't seem to have any detail. Hence, a gradual ND filter of .6 power would probably have solved this perfectly. By the way, is the whirlpool visible in real time or only in an aggregate exposure? Link to comment
randman 0 Posted June 25, 2001 cut the shot in half. The lower half is great! The upper half distracts from the rocks and leaves. Link to comment
bruce_hamm 0 Posted June 26, 2001 Nice work James. I'd be tempted to place a grad ND over the trees. I find this part of the picture a tad over exposed. However, you've really captured the stream nicely. Keep posting more like this... Link to comment
james_deboer 0 Posted July 28, 2001 I got some feedback on this photo already, but was looking for some more. I actually like the way the sky is overexposed, the dark woods and the bright sunny day outside the canopy of the trees. It's pretty close to the way I remember seeing it. I'd like any thoughts about this photo or any ideas to consider next time I find a situation like this. Any ratings would be appreciated too, but comments help more. Thank you. Link to comment
