sky blue 0 Posted March 27, 2009 I appreciate that. Talk about infectious smiles, especially the little fellow on the left. It was fun taking their photo and I smile from ear to ear everytime I see his smile. (Their grandfather had been very ill earlier in the year but is doing good now.) ~Sky Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 28, 2009 The girl on the right is adorable! Beautiful portrait, Sky! What happened to your fighting elk photo, did you move it? Link to comment
sky blue 0 Posted March 28, 2009 Thanks Kim. She is a cousin to the other 4 kids. These kids were very happy and had wonderful smiles. My Spanish is limited so I imagine it may have been easy to smile at me. ~Sky (Oh, I did move that picture.) Link to comment
t37traveler 0 Posted March 29, 2009 Sky- What strikes me (in addition to the smiles and happy demeanor of your subjects) is the color coordinatioin of the shirts. The youngest boy contrasts in his plaid; the three others are all wearing a similar version of blue striped dress shirt open at the neck with a Tee underneath, and the girls are weal solid aqua. This creates a nice unifying, effect without appearing uniform-like. The arrangement of the subjects within the group is excellent as it allows the shirts to create an interesting visual pattern. I've seen so many shots where families have no clue how to dress for a group photo. (Was this impromptu - the setting indicates, yes, the dress says no)... in any event it's a wonderful casual portrait of a very photogenic group. Nice lighting as well. Muy bueno, amigo! sky blue 0 Posted March 29, 2009 Hi Sandra, Thank you very much. Taking these photos were discussed for almost a year. There were some health issues early on. I really doubted that they would take place but finally everything came together a couple weeks before this last Christmas. Nothing was certain until a couple of days before and the session time was established and to get everyone there it was scheduled to be just before sunset. It was almost too close to sunset. Late arrivals only left about 15 minutes of good light to do the work. (I was almost worried especially after the first couple of shots.) Their clothing was thanks to their wonderful mom and the pose was my doing. I think it would have been a shame for this image not to have been made. These times are so fleeting. Without a photo, we almost forget how our families are at any given time through the years. I was very proud that this photo came together. I certainly appreciate the time you have taken to look and comment. ~Sky Link to comment
