I like this one. It's caption is very good too. A bud, an unopened flower, really really makes me think of future and my hopes. It's a great symbol. Warm regards, Saleh

It's a very nice photo. The colors makes me think of spring. I think it might look even better if it was taken so that the flower didn't stand straight up in the picture. Maybe just tilting it a bit to the left. Don't get me wrong though. I do think this composition works very good as well :)

Hi Saleh and Miina-

Thank you for your comments. Miina, I actually did trying framing the bud on the diagonal when I was shooting, but it didn't look right... the bud had such dimension and came straight forward "out of the mists" that I decided to leave it perfectly vertical. Usually I do make sure the flowers are slightly tilted - it often makes a more interesting composition. Maybe the tilt would work if the photo were cropped to a square. Thanks for the suggestions and thoughts - if I get a moment I'll play with tilting and cropping and let you know.

Did and Gail - Thanks for the comments. Spring arrives chilly (wet except for this year) and bursting with buds in the Washington, DC area. I shot this on a gray and misty late afternoon; that white ray is a happy accident, although I did see it in the view finder and hoped it would look as nice on the monitor.

Outstanding! I love this one Sandra! The soft colors of the bud blend perfectly with the background, yet you still managed to hold the texture. And the curved stem in this composition creates depth that adds to the overall design.. Tried to give it the 7/7 it deserves, but thanks to your generous rating of one of my photos PN wouldn't let me. Regards, Bill
