pnital 36 Posted March 23, 2009 ... very nice action photo, real good timing. I like a lot the horses feet while galopping. It reminds me Edgar Degas painting, "At the races" ... For painting it he photographed horses to learn how their feet function while running. A small nit thought is the BG blue.. what is it sky?, in any event well lighted and a very good photo. Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 24, 2009 Good action shot, Laurent, how did you get so close to the horses? By the way, I finally got my little package in the mail, it only took me MONTHS! My organization skills are pretty much non-existent. As I was looking back over my e-mails for your address, I noticed that you had also requested the picture "Sliding By" which I forgot to include on my CD so I'll try e-mailing it to you. laurent-paul 1 Posted March 25, 2009 This photo is absolutely stunning ! The balance in your darks is fantastic as we don't loose a single detail. Not speaking about the timing andn position of the two jokeys. very impressive ! Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted March 25, 2009 Pnina, thanks as always for stopping by in spite of my current unsteadiness on PN. I hardly spend a few minutes each day on the site, and unfortunately do not comment as much as I should on old friends' photographs. About the background, it was a line of trees with patches of sun-lit sky shining through. Is it the colour or the texture that bothered you, Pnina? Or both? Thanks for your sincere comment. Jack, no problem. I've printed the pictures you requested and my pics are waiting for yours to be shipped over in the same package. This way you'll receive them all at once and we'll cut down expenses. I understand what it is to be busy. Besides, It takes time to prepare a picture. I tried to make mine as attractive as I could in their printed shape. Link to comment
laurentlacoste 0 Posted March 25, 2009 It's funny because it seems we were writing our comments at exactly the same time. So I'll add one here as an answer. Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like the pic. To tell you the truth, I've just quit working with the monitor I' d processed all my images with over the last four years, and changed recently for the new 24'" Imac. I calibrated the whole thing with the one eye display and what a difference it makes ! I now feel like reprocessing a lot of my former pictures that now do not look the way I originally wanted them to . Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted March 25, 2009 Do you really need to post process again your old photos ? not sure : they are as they were done at the time, and succesfull as they are. And keeping them will only show the progress done in time ( it never hurts ) Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted March 26, 2009 Laurent, It is a small nit....When I first entered the blue BG in general was a bit too dark and textured, but after sometime my concentration was on the beautiful FG ..... Link to comment
