Wintercanalscape

A bend in the Beemsterringvaart near the not-even-tiny village of Oostmijzen in polder Schermer, Netherlands. I was lucky that the surface of the ice was not yet spoilt by skates.Polarizer + Tripod. No Paintshop.

Very nice picture. What's on the far left though, it looks like the pyramids in Egypt! PS: I'm not the only one who noticed this it seems. After I posted, I saw someone else made the same comment.

Im originally from the same area as Jaap and often photograph the same subjects as he does but never have I reached a level like his, absolutely wonderful, all of your photographs. Oh and for everyone who still wonders, the pyramid-like objects in the back are old Dutch farmhouses.

This is so amazing. What a wonderful piece of art. I'm not completly in love with the crop, but I wasn't there, so how do I know. Great job.

Please pardon my language, but HOLY SHIT!

I just clicked the link to your porfolio and I experienced a shortness of breath! And I haven't even clicked on a thumbnail yet!

Almost perfect. Why not perfect: The shape like pyramid on the left doesn't have any role in my opinion, and turns the view from the right path. It's nothing that can't be mended in a minute though. The impression of excellence remains of coarse

This photo made me go put a sweater on! this is awesome. There are some comments about foreground grass/twigs... who cares? The bottom line is that this photo put me in the situation. It's nothing short of amazing.

It reminds me of an infrared picture, except that it's in color. I didn't even know that the water was frozen, since it looks so tranquil! It REALLY looks great. Wish I could be there. :)
