michaelfranz 0 Posted March 15, 2009 very nice shot! how long was the exposure time and is the light on the trees natural or painted? Link to comment
younes 0 Posted March 15, 2009 Thanks Michael, This is a 720s exposure, f/3.2 iso 200. The shot was taken near a parking lot, the light on the trees comes from the sodium lights in the lot (couldn't be bothered painting all those trees myself :D). Link to comment

kurt2006 0 Posted March 23, 2009 Younes, it's strange because it's not "original" and yet it is original. What's striking to me is that the thumbnail looks like spikes of grass or something. The ugly brown sodium light, however, is creating something lovely by painting the trees orange against an inky purple sky. Because you did not alter the color, the surreal quality makes a stunning composition. 720 sec must have been painful for you! I like the result, though. The star trails are not long but they are not short, either. Why is the North Star so high in the sky, though? You must be in one of those cold northern latitudes :) Link to comment
