tar heel 0 Posted March 6, 2009 My gut reaction to this shot is that I like it, but I also think it would work better as a landscape orientation with the rock in the right 1/3 of the image, or eliminated altogether. Great great lighting; you nailed it, level horizon, look like you used a split density filter very well... reflection works well... very good shot, except I think it would look better as landscape. brossart 0 Posted March 6, 2009 I agree with Phil. There's a lot that I like about this shot: The color tones, the overall lighting, the highlights in the trees and foreground rock, the reflection in the water, the color of your sky, etc, but the portrait orientation throws me off. Overall very nice capture. Very peaceful and pleasing. Link to comment

dan_shoe 0 Posted March 8, 2009 I agree with your choice of making photo a vertical orientation. Vertical allowed framing of the foreground reflection with the snow, yet capturing the clouds and veiled sun. And of course I like the rock - it adds immensely. 7/7 Link to comment
papasan 0 Posted March 8, 2009 Beautiful reflection and nice textures. I dont mind the portrait orientation, but i think it would also work well in landscape orientation. Regards - michel Link to comment

crow0806 18 Posted March 8, 2009 The sun on the rock is what keeps this scene from being overly dark. It has more impact than any other part of the photo. This is a great verticle shot focusing on what is important, rather than a horizontal shot with too much in it. Good job! Link to comment
