chris_keegan 0 Posted November 20, 2002 Great composition and colours. Slow change of colours around the picture is perfect! Yup! Link to comment
andrew coulthard 0 Posted November 20, 2002 This is one picture of a two picture series (I like the other one better). Interested to hear what any of you have to say. Thanks, Drew. Link to comment
christian deichert 1 Posted November 20, 2002 I'm not sure which version I prefer, this or the other one. I think that the differences in lighting and composition are enough to make them stand out individually rather than compete against each other. Both of these are great minimalist shots. With the reflections and the grain, this seems like a split tribute to Seurat and Magritte.I like the foreground, but I'd prefer it to be featureless. Thus, I recommend cropping out the little shell at lower center. Link to comment
david_eppstein 0 Posted November 20, 2002 Not bad. I like the other one better, but I like the way that in this one the near target acts as a picture frame for the far one. It would be better if there were some yellow on the ground inside that frame. Link to comment
andrew coulthard 0 Posted November 21, 2002 I wondered if it was crooked too, I took great care to center the bubble on my tripod and on the spirit level attached to the camera hot shoe. My lens was at 20mm; I tried to be dead center to the two targets. Maybe when I focused or adjusted the zoom, I caused one of the tripod legs to sink a little, it could even be that the film was slightly skew in the holder within the scanner. I shall adjust it in Photoshop. Well spotted! Link to comment
reddragonlady 0 Posted November 26, 2002 Overall, I like this a lot. I do agree about the seashell though. It draws attention away from the subject. Link to comment
james_wilderhancock 0 Posted December 11, 2002 i really like this shot. love the way the colors blend around the image and also prefer this perspective over the other. guess i also have to agree with cropping the shell. very well executed. Link to comment
