arda 0 Posted November 23, 2002 Great capture! This is such a dynamic and exciting photo. Makes me feel like I was also diving for the ball. Do the players complain about the use of flash? I have shot gymnastics indoors and flash photography is not allowed. Link to comment
luke_fields 0 Posted November 25, 2002 Hmmmmm... Volleyball, my arch nemisis. Great job, I've tried and tried with this sport, and when I get something that is even somewhat good, it's most likely by luck. Great moment, and also very nice balence with the background. Was it a well lit gym? Or did you use a seperate monolight or something to also illuminate the background? Oh, and Arda, flash is almost never tolerated at gymnastics because it is believed that the flash can lead to a loss in concentration that would lead to injury. Most other sports allow what is called appropriate flash, which basically means common sense. Though, be careful with swimming, because a strobe is used to signal the start, and you could cause a false start. Also don't use flash in situations like penalty shots and free throws. If you still have questions, check with your state athletic association. Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted November 26, 2002 I love the shot despite the bad cropping - the facial expressions are great especially on the subject. What was her reaction after the play in regard to the flash going off? I feel that for this to be a commercial shot, you need to get rid of the background - i know you had no control over this aspect of the shot. Mike Sea Mike Sea Link to comment
