Heysen Range

Taken through the window of a small four-seater aeroplane. Here's a piece of advice: never volunteer to be in the co-pilot's seat if you are taking pictures - the view is not great, and there are bits of aeroplane in the way in almost every possible direction.

On a small four-seater aeroplane, around 7am on our last morning in the

Flinders Ranges. The best option for photography would have been to

hire the plane for one hour and have the doors removed - at a mere 500

$. Hence this was taken through the window. Thanks for viewing, Gunnar

Waterpocket fold? Lovely composition. I think the light is bit too harsh here, so I uggest better timing, but otherwise very enjoyable.

Interesting dancing mountains and lovely natural colors. Congratulations.

For your comments! What with the pictures from that morning having been taken through the aeroplane's window, I had to adjust white balance, saturation, brightness, and contrast considerably in order to get rid of the greenish tint and flat appearance of the raw image. Whilst the early morning light is best for bringing out the shapes in the landscape, it can look a bit harsh, too. It's both a product of post processing as well as timing. Thanks again, Gunnar
