rbanfield 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Ian, Can't wait to travel to this area. This series inspires me to get out of the desert and head northward. This is so cool. I like the different bands of color and those little clouds that are just floating up there...Ray Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted February 27, 2009 Very nice. The placement of those clouds in relation to the swoop of the land is spot on. The thin band at the bottom anchors the entire scene while it also furthers the linear graphic aspect. I get the odd sensation of movement here as if this were a panned shot. Maybe because the photo reminds me to some degree, more in spirit than anything else, of my recent panned seascapes. Or maybe it is the long thin lines which give the sense of motion. This image has all the sophistication of a well crafted photo and at the same time possesses the simplicity and innocence of a child's drawing. Clever and fun to view. Link to comment
globephoto 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Love this one Ian. I could see it used as the background to a car ad or some "green" product. Wonderful lines and the clouds are placed nicely. If the highlights in the big cloud are all in check this one's out of the park. By the way someone else mentioned it reminded them of the Microsoft screen in XP - this shot blows away that one! jeff.grant 0 Posted February 28, 2009 Ian, this is a clear favourite from your recent 3 uploads. Every shot I see of the Palouse makes mw want to go there. I love the lines and colours in this. Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted March 1, 2009 Thanks everyone. Peter, the highlights are a little blown here due to compression and a touch of added contrast for the web. But, they are all there in the master file. I haven't made a larger print of this yet -- but, I hope to soon (as soon as my new ink cartridges arrive). Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted March 2, 2009 Absolutely superb (and I have to thank my friend Gordon for leading me here). Your ability to blend colors with both depth and subtlety, and to use simple forms to produce such a wonderfully magical landscape is a creative tour de force. Link to comment
mcginty 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Palouse simplicity at it's best. We'll be looking like this with in a month again. Great eye Ian. Link to comment

lonebearimages 0 Posted March 10, 2009 This is simply enchanting, with a touch of surrealism thrown in for good measure. This is my hands down favorite of your Palouse uploads. Really a fabulous composition and exposure, and perfectly processed. Your work just gets better and better, my friend! I hope all is well with you and yours. BTW, this is going straight into "My Favorites!" Cheers! Chris Link to comment
