I think a croped version of this perform could be better.. as it shown in the attachment, it is more and more dark in side...

Gah. Original version good, cropped versions bad.

I like the minimalist composition and use of 1/3-points. I also like the deep foreground and the way the yellow color there balances the roofs of the targets (and their reflections) contrasted with the blue gray sky; cropping the foreground would lose that effect.

That is what I saw in the shot but the 'croppers' obviously thought otherwise.

For me the cropped picture just 'dies', I like the full version but what do I know?

Thanks for the comments - all well received

I really like the image. I have visited the site several times (mainly there for the breeding seals around November/December). Aren't the shallow water reflections wonderful!

Can't help thinking that another target in shot would have worked just that little bit better (three is always a good number). What about cloning a really small target for near the horizon, just to the left of the others?

Love the colours. Do not crop the image!

This reminds me of a Salvadore Dali painting. It took me a while to figure it out. Don't crop!

It's excellent the way you've presented it. Very well done. The sky is great, the shallow water is excellent. Third object is a good suggestion if you don't mind bending reality.

Thanks for sharing. Consider these comments helpful or rubbish as you see fit.

The crop killed the whole ambience of this wonderful picture! As a previous commenter mentioned, the yellows and blues work well together. Added to this the foreground conveys the feeling of space. The colours themselves are really good, not too bright, just subtle. The sky is atmospheric too, creating a kind of ominous feeling, as if the stillness is about to be disturbed by a storm stirring up, or a fighter plane flying overhead. I agree with the surreal Dali'ish comparisons.

If I were to do a crop, here's (above) the one I would do. Not 100% sure I'd do it though. Great shot!
