"Kissed by the Dew"

I would like your opinion on this flower photo that I took while I

was in Kauaii. I tried to black out the background in ps to better

show the flower. Please critique for me. Thanks.

I don't agree with "Exhibitor Visions." I find that the green leaves set off the red flower very effectively, and help to relate the flower to reality, which the dead black background makes more difficult. Without the leaves, this could be a dead flower; with them, it seems to be alive and well. The shot of the flower itself is very fine; the lighting is excellent, showing details very well without being clinical. The flower is very well chosen for beauty, and the drops on the bottom petal add interest. All in all, a very fine photograph of a beautiful subject.Well seen and done!
