Red Flare

“Life moves out of a red flare of dreams into a common light of common

hours, until old age bring the red flare again.” - William Butler Yeats.

By the time I converted this to B&W, the flare was more than evident,

so, I had to do something about it, so why not this.... A Red Flare. Let

And so from unfortunate happenstance comes poetry, both real and pictorial. Not fade to black, fade to red. Somehow appropriate.

Mucho tiempo sin ver nada tuyo por aqui, pero la espera a merecido la pena con creces. Muy guapa la toma que nos muestras, ese tono rojo del cielo esta genial y completa junto con esos picos de rocas una composicion maravillosa. Me alegro de verte por aqui de nuevo y espero que te vaya bien con tus niñas, la mia me absorve todo el dia pero como dijo alguien....sarna con gusto no pica! Un saludo Juan Carlos!

A mi me parece que has hecho un trabajo, no solo original, sino precioso y bien hecho. El paisaje merece la pena, y tu.....como siempre un artista !!

This look & feel so much like a piece of alien land, the red flare esp enhance the feeling. Don't think B/W will work here. Your choice of colour is good here.

Que gusto que te agrade la foto; debo admitir que no me fue nada fácil lograr el efecto, pues quería virar el color de forma selectiva, y para alcanzarlo tuve que hacer el viraje en 3 pasos, con tres tonos distintos de rojo a morado. Y gracias por preguntar por la familia, todos estamos muy bien, eso si confirmo lo que alguien me dijo hace tiempo: dos bebes, son mas que el doble de uno!....tan solo hay que ver lo que nos cuesta ahora salir de casa, el proceso de tener todo listo es mucho mas tardado. Ah, pero sarna con gusto, definitivamente no pica. Un abrazo,

The perspective is ingenious because it leads the eyes to this intriguing landscape like a prelude making a proper introduction. The choice of colors create a soothing and calm ambience yet it adds an alien touch that invites the viewer to linger around and inspect it further.

La creatividad no tiene fronteras,tu primera imagen que veo desde el nacimiento de tu segundo hijo.

Que destacaria de tu imagen,ese gran ala que parece caernos encima,su buen tratamiento al b&n, con esa nota de color rojizo que le has aplicado...como me ha recordado a lo que imagino seria el planeta rojo.

Disculpa la falta de signos de acentuacion- admiracion estoy con un teclado anglo sajon y no me aclaro.Ahi van dos sietes creo que la imagen bien lo vale...Un fuerte abrazo

Muchas gracias Mario, sabes lo mucho que estimo tus comentarios. Curiosamente esta foto simplemente no funciona igual de bien solo en B&N, así que la tuve archivada un largo rato sin hacer mas con ella. Fue hasta hace unos días que jugando con algunos de mis viejos archivos, y el Capture NX2, me sorprendió el resultado al virarla a color. Después de eso, solo fue cuestión de hacer varios intentos, hasta obtener el resultado que ahora ves.

A mi también me recuerda las imágenes que vemos de Marte, o algún tipo de paisaje post apocalíptico.

Hola Juan Carlos. Perdona el retraso en la respuesta pero a veces también hay que trabajar.... ;-). Preciosa composición y tratamiento que hace volar la imaginación. 7/7 y fuerte abrazo.

Una imagen extraordinaria, aun estando ahi en ese momento y con la mejor camara se hace imprescindible "ver" con la mente lo que capturas con la lente para que algo asi sea posible. Creo que eso es lo que define a un fotografo, y esta imagen es la que te define. Porque esto es fotografia en estado puro, esto es arte. Inmensa.

The fire in the sky is disturbing, but thank you for providing us a little shelter.

Tatjana, drama was a major thought in my mind while working on this, I wanted to make it look as if something really meaningful, even devastating was taking place; while at the same time preserving as best as possible a sense of beauty and peace.......I still don't know if that's even possible though. Thank you for your visit and comment, I really appreciate them both.

 

Andrew, Jef, thank you both for your comments. What a challenge is color, isn't it? I'm really fascinated by it, and the endless possibilities, it and a fairly descent software provide; it's really such a joy to be able to play hell somehow, with the truthfulness of colors.

Jeff, as usual you say too many things with so few words.......I'm really glad that you found this to be of your liking. It was an interesting experiment, on an old photograph, that I liked but felt was lacking something. A disturbing red light, or just an unsettling omen over the valley......whatever it takes to get the imagination running. ;)
