Amazing capture and rendering. I really love the sky and the detail in the snow and building. Congrats

Thanks to everyone who have left their mark here via comments and/or ratings. Like many of us, I am never sure how my fellow photographers at PN will react to a particular image. The reaction has been very positive and I thank you very much and I will try and visit your images as I usually try and do over the next little while.

I am going to keep on this journey of HDR mostly as a tool when other options may not be suitable or if i am looking for a 'special effect'. I am spread all over the photographic map with abstracts, photo-art, landscapes, flowers, travel photography, etc and i think I need to concentrate my efforts in fewer places and become better in those areas. Maybe I can find a win-win. I also have hundreds of images here on PN and I must ask myself where is this leading as I capture and create more images and add them here.

Sorry to bother you with my inner thoughts and best regards,

Alexandra, Federico, Anthony, Saleh, Cynthia, Leslie, Sonali, El, Anuar, Linh (and anybody else who I may have missed) : I deeply appreciate your very positive remarks and generous ratings. I hope to visit your images if I have not already done so.

The same object, bring out two different mood, calm and violent, portrait and landscape. Thanks for sharing your nice creation and thoughts.

Sorry, but the ratings beast devoured the ratings this photograph so richly deserves.

This shot is magnificent. The HDR effectively brings out detail and color, and also makes the mood that much more dramatic. You have brilliantly captured the beauty that is unique to winter (which, unfortunately, I can't experience except vicariously).

My sincere compliments,

michael

PS I'm pleased that you liked my abstracts. Thanks so much for viewing and commenting. And thanks for sharing your attitude toward living in your bio.

This is a powerful image but I do not think the sky is OK. It looks strikingly odd and pixélated right above the building. This, to me, detracts a lot from the overall impression.

Glauco - I appreciate the comments and the 7/7 anon.

Amy - thanks for the kind words and the 6/6 which is appreciated.

Michael: glad to share and thanks for reading my Bio.

Senol - appreciate your 6/6

Ramon - I appreciate your 7/7

Jayanti - I am happy to share here at PN and thanks for the 6/6

Gopi - you are too kind - appreciate the 7/7

Swen - thanks for the comment - this image is from a 5 exposure HDR process and there is another image in the folder that is more 'normal'. You do not have the benefit of a larger image but I can assure you that there is no pixelation of the sky above the roof.

Warm regards and thanks for taking the time to comment and to rate.

I see what you mean after having checked another version of this in your portfolio. It is a very nice image indeed!

Tony-

I love this photograph!!! The cirrus clouds resemble a sunburst exploding from behind that very picturesque house. They really draw the viewer's eye into the photo and directly to the focal point. That big ole stone house just sits there atop the little knoll and rules the landscape and the photograph. The softly curving road leads up to the house; the clouds lead down to it, and the trees frame it and create boundaries in the photo just as they do in the natural. I feel as if a weight or a magnet just pulls my vision in and won't release. HDR or whatever, this is awesome! Excellent work .. let's see, excellent equals, what is it now...hmm...a well-deserved pair of sevens?!
