Wonderful pattern. I really like the framing of the two bright orange starfish in the middle. Tack sharp throughout, of course. BTW, I've always called these "starfish": where does the name "starrush" come from?

Thanx John, yes this is basically rush of stars as they are feeding frenzy on clams. I learnt recently starfish is not a fish and should be called star...hence star-rush :-)

It is a wonderful shot! Really nice to see clear patterns particularly the pedicellariae in some of the stars that appear so sharp! I am puzzled why some of them are not as sharp as others - particularly the orange star center-left of the frame. I presume you used telephoto lens - what focal length and aperture? It could very well be water on the top surface acting as micro-lens, reducing sharpness.

I agree with previous comments. Beautiful shoot. The saturation and harmony on the colors is great.
