Daniel, this is a very neatly prepared image. The colors are sensational. The moon I presume is added. If this was as is, then you have really pulled off a goody. If I were composing, I would have arranged the shell to be in the opposite corner, in this case lower right. As is, the comp is somewhat heavy on the left side, with open space on the right. Just a nit pick, still very sublime!

I love the color and the softness of the shot. The shell to me is great where it is. I love the moon. I am one who has no idea how to place a moon in a shot. So good job if it was added. It really looks real. Overall I love the composition of the shot. Linda

Very good photograph with warm and very nice colors. I really like the light and also handling. Congratulion for this.-) Best regards, Robert

I really like the idea but I have trouble with the moon. To be more realistic, it should be a much thinner crescent with the lighted portion facing the setting sun (for a more correct angle, see your other photo "Quarter Moon Over Gulf Islands"). Still it is a very nice image with wonderful muted colors. I'm an astro-geek so I notice when the moon is out of place... ;o)

Colours are so beautifiul, that the picture would be very good without the moon as well, or even better. Best regards, Karoly

Thanks, everyone. I shot the shell and background with a 17-40mm lens and then I used my 70-200mm lens to shoot the moon a few minutes later. The moon was fairly high in the sky so I brought it closer to the horizon so it could fit in the frame. Thanks for all of the thoughts and comments!

I love your photo. In order to make the image realistic, you will need to rotate the moon little bit, about 30 degrees counter clockwise. This is because by moving it you have changed position of the moon in relationship to the sun :-) ...but I can see that having it laying on its belly looks more artistic, reflects the shape of the shell.

Extraordinary composition. You are achieving some very beautiful soft pastel colors. Very natural look and feel. Nice.........
