davidschindlerphotography 0 Posted February 5, 2009 I know it's not sharp but I thought it was worth posting...there are only a few hundred of them left (up from a low of 28 birds so maybe they have a chance).Thank you for looking. Link to comment
knobby6 1 Posted February 5, 2009 Pretty impressive bird. Would love to shoot one flying full frame. Guess I'll add it to my list. Link to comment

robert becker 0 Posted February 5, 2009 After living in Ventura county for so many years, it took my move to Boise, Idaho before I saw my first Cal Condor. It was a breeder at the Peregrine Fund program here in Boise and it was in a breeding cage. Impressive bird! Wonderful capture. Thanks for posting it! Link to comment

davidschindlerphotography 0 Posted March 1, 2009 Thanks to all for your comments...Jeffery, the Condors are routinely captured at a U.S.Fish and Wildlife facility near where I live in the Southern California mountains. They are given physicals to monitor the lead levels in their blood. A large part of their diet is the remains of hunted Deer carcasses which contain lead from the ammunition used to hunt the Deer. The Condors ingest the lead which is extremely toxic to the birds. The California Dept.of Fish and Game passed a new law banning the use of lead bullets in existing Condor ranges.
