You do not need to center your subject. I'd love to see this up close, and from a different perspective. Get down on the ground and take it looking up at it.... from the side, not front and center. There is drama waiting for you here... and try black and white, as it will add to that drama. Lots of possibilities abound. The shadows and light can help you if you take this at different times of the day as well. Go for it!

About 90 percent of the time I find perfectly centered subjects static and uninteresting. Not here. This immediately grabbed my eye and I think you made exactly the right choice in the way it's composed and scaled. In this case you've framed you subject not once, but twice, first with the textured stone walls and second with shadows. It might be possible to find another perspective that's this dramatic yet balanced. But I doubt it. For me everything works here. --Jim

Great texture. Maybe it would be better if converted to B&W. Thus, the green color of the grass, which I feel doesn't fit here, would vanish, but it's texture would stay.
