janiebarber 0 Posted January 29, 2009 Traveling after Christmas holidays ran across this unique shot in Taiban, New Mexico. I actually talked to a lady that was going into the post office and she told me who this belonged to old lady Gertrude Cater. She was a very nice lady and I feel like no one ever traveled much through Taiban as she really was a talkative person. Lonely! Link to comment

janiebarber 0 Posted January 30, 2009 Oskar and Michael, thanks for your kind words. When I see a place like this it always tugs at my heart. My mother passed away nearly two years ago and when she left her home everyone knows what happens to these old homes with no heat or air they begin to fall. My brother and I actually had to pay someone to move the place we grew up in as the city was going to tear it down and charge us for it. Beautification they call it, but then I still see others that they never do anything about and it sure makes me wonder about our dear city offices. I remember seeing my house go through town to another destination and you can not imagine the feeling I had as the days of my childhood slowly moved along. I cried a many a tear. Link to comment
