As I look back at these photo of the time, I began to develop a feeling of the true nature of the boom and bust cycle, of the rise and fall of things rural and urban. Things politicians may want to attribute to the so called "invisible hands" theory. There are peoples and places I have seen that were caught in the invisible hands, without any mercy, without any connections, without any possible means to extract themselves.
