Amazing light and powerful forms. I'm not given to hyperbole, but this one is worthy of any of Galen Rowell's iconic body of work. I'd love to see a large (physical) print version.

No HDR - Single Frame, Nikon n8008s @ 24mm, w/ Fuji Velvia & SplitGND Filter

Taken a bunch of years ago, this has always been a personal favorite. This (and many of my early landscape) were shot with a lens that wasgiven to me by Galen Rowell; his old manual f2.8 24mm; a lens creditedwith many famous images from his book, Mountain Light. It waseasy to see why that was a favorite lens. :)

This shot is simply wonderful! And it's a joy reading that it was captured on film and then scanned: you got a stunning image, difficult to beat with modern DSRL (I'm a film shooter...). Not the old fight film VS digital, but the color rendition you got here is really beautiful. The atmosphere is stuning: warm light on the mountain's peak against cold snow in the foreground...I will include your favorite picture to the list of my favorite ones!

Kind regards, Alberto.

That's pretty awesome that you got to know Galen so well, and even got to shoot images like this with one of his old lenses! The light is just spectacular, beautiful composition as well. I just yearn for a little more space top and bottom.

Perfect, this has everything. From the fantastic shadow detail to the amazing light on the mountain. And then the reflection to top off a great composition. I do wish we could see this and your other photos just a bit bigger though.

Regards, Dave.

Spectacular shot. It's the light, it's always about the light.....and the place, and the composition. 7/7
