I watched this man with his daughter for about an hour....they were collecting rocks and shells on the beach. He had so much patience, they were adorable and it just made me smile. My first attempt at this kind of image, much harder than I thought it would be! All advice for improvement is very much appreciated.

Thank you for your time, Pamela

Beautiful backlight, I also like the tones and concept. Very catching shot, congrats! PS: it would also be interesting to "cut" the sky on the top, leaving only the dark part of the shot - however it would be a different kind of effect, and shot. P.

Pamela this shoot is full of love, sensibility, feelings, a simple but wonderful composition. Very good. Regards

Under the existing light conditions I think you've done well Pamela.Yes you have some loss of focus in the background and the shimmering water takes away some of the peripheral clarity, however, sometimes good clarity and detail can make the viewer concentrate on the technical aspect of an image and lose sight of whats really important about photography. That is, a photo represents a moment that lasts forever. To me, this is a photo that does just that. Your picture truly does represents a thousand words. Your title is very well chosen too. well done

A moving image that has both inner and outer beauty. I am falling into it the more I look. I see some sadness in the story, maybe a stolen moment that many Fathers experience as a result of broken families, the purity of a bond that can never die in spirit, but has become a boundary in the physical. A touching deep, interpretative capture Pamela.

Pamela, lovely shot....As Riccardo mentions, you "fall into it"... the mood is splendidly set... the warmth and sense of time is also captured and perfectly transmited... One of those shots you can very well look at over and over and over again :)

Love the composition as well... like mentioned in one of the comments above, cropping the sky can generate amazingly enought yet another sensation, perhaps a bit more dramatic.

Thanks for sharing :)
