One always hesitates when critiqueing a nude, for fear that the subject matter may be clouding one's judgement (in an obvious manner, especially if you're male and not yet ready to admit you're "past it").

Having examined my conscience closely in this matter (try and keep the sniggers down please, Photonetters), I can now proceed with my critique under the sails of pure artistic appreciation.

This is a sexy, erotic and highly impressive photograph, born of a good idea and executed very well indeed. Note: I use the word "erotic" precisely. I do not mean "pornographic" or even "soft-porn".

The lights playing on the model's skin have a highly tactile presence to them, reminiscent of a lover's caress. The blue coloring is striking. It's depth and richness is pure sensuality, while the model's form is tantalisingly presented and unashamedly, proudly female. Not some grotesque tortured shape, but an everyday (if intimate) pose that beckons...

Obvious antecedents to the photographer's concept come to mind: in particular, some of the "James Bond" films' opening credits ("Goldfinger" especially). This image is more abstract than those and as such, I think is much more interesting (hence my rating for "originality" of 9).

I'm also sure there were technical issues to do with photographing under UV "black" light &etc. That these have been successfully dealt with adds to the dazzling effect of the picture as a whole.

The photographer obviously has a fertile imagination and the technical competentcy to express it. Watch this space. Carsten Tschach is on his way up.

This looks like it was shot underwater in a swimming pool at night---a midnight skinny-dip, if you will. What an incredible mastery of color photography. 99% of "nudes" are boring black&whites trying to avoid being erotic--and they succeed, unfortunately. This, however, has all my tactile, taste, and aromatic senses on RED ALERT---SITUATION URGENT

This is one of the most amazing nude shots I have ever seen. I get so bored with the b&w female-in-a-bra-type photos... this is so... well... wonderful! I love the effect, I love the pose, I love everything about it! Wonderful!!! I would, however, like to know more specifics as to how this was made... please share!

I love this photograph, but I do feel a little creeped out by the yellow/green spots all over her. They remind me of a skin disease or something else "not quite right." What are they?

This is a very refreshingly original nude!

You have great tonal range, which largely contributes to this very impressive image. You have lights, mids and darks, creating a 3-D, sculpturesque effect.

The intense lighting, the blue hue, the proud stance, and the unidentifyable speckles... add an air of mystery to that which is sublimely grotesque, or is it grotesquely sublime.

I almost feel as though I've come face to face with a beautiful sea creature.

Very different from what we're used to seeing. Reminds me of the cover of one of Tricky's albums. Well done.

I thought there wasn't anything original about the female buttocks anymore but I'm glad that this picture proves me I'm wrong. Congratulations to you and your model. This image makes me feel I'm entering into a completely different dimension, where just thoughts are used to touch and caress...

How on earth did you meter that? I would love to here the tech aspects of this type of shot. BTW, great model!

Was this lighted using some kind of projector, or was the model painted under UV lighting, or both?

Now this is something ! I wanted for so long to take UV pictures already, and still haven't done it... This folder convinces me to find the light source needed - not that simple in Malaysia, I guess... A really nice portfolio... In a way, I also feel your style isn't that far away from mine - curious to have an opinion about my " Digital Women " if you have the time... The difference being, I use Photoshop, whereas you don't need it...

I'm thinking of something along the lines of a "Celestial Woman." Feels comfortable with her nudity, fertile, luscious curves, the mother of the universe.

Just my poetic view of it. :)
