Where the Dark River Rises

michael anderson

This is a rework from a previous version. I reworked the color conversion to sRGB. It's three images stitched together into a pano.

Angel Falls thunders 3,000 feet down to the heart of the Amazon

Rainforest. A spectacular ride up the Rio Carrao in a motorized canoe

brings you to this campsite where you can sleep in hammocks next to

the river. I felt really lucky to get a two minute break in the clouds at

sunrise to get this image. If you look closely, you can see a dinosaur in

the lower right corner...

Dear Michael, this looks almost surreal. The bold waterfall precipitating from the top of the mountain and evaporating in the clouds of the valley thousand meters below. Again your unique vision of something we have seen before, but never as dramatic as you depict it. Glad to see you again on PN. Best wishes. Karl

Beautiful image of an exotic landscape. The lightning together with the weather conditions gives this image an interesting touch. Regards

beautiful lights and colour tones, really unbelievable landscape, I wish I can see it larger, because of the detalils, maybe that's why I don't see the dinosaur

Realy nice work ... looks rather irreal, but of a smashing beauty.

Sad we didn't get a larger view to admire even more!

You got lucky? well not exactly, you expended the effort and time and expense to be in the right place at the right time and the weather cooperated. And you created your own luck. The tones in this image are perfect and I had no idea that such an angle was available to view the falls. Truly well done.
