Lots of foreground detail in contrast to the background motion and active weather. The coloured lichen really makes this image work.

thanks for stopping by - your reaction to the image is what I hoped for. I am not usually into non-colorful images but this one - with a small amount of post-processing is what I hoped for.

Tony you have captured some essence of the place here. Someday. I have promised my wife that someday we will get up into your corner of North America. The motion and the cool colors and yet the colors of life truly evoke the region and the edges of winter.

The foreground makes it feel like there's twice the image in a single picture. It makes my eye travel through it and want to see even more. It's a very powerful and amazing image. Congrats!

TonyWonderfull , like how the lichen adds a touch of brightness to balance the sombre mood . These wet rocks make an old hiker think you would have to follow the shoreline carefully or you easily end up in the drink. Cheers-Ross

Beautiful photo. The steely blue-grey colors add to a peaceful, yet cold and forbidding mood. The subtle green of the lichened rocks adds "life" to the photo. Well done, Tony.

Keith - it is the Nikon kit lens 18-70mm - many second exposure on a sturdy manfrotto tripod. I have thoughts about getting a sigma 10-20 mm but still doing some research.

Michaela - thanks for the max rating - really appreciated.

Art-X - I also liked the clarity.

Glen - thanks for stopping by.

Ross - appreciate your input.

Jim - you have a way with words and the 7/7 rating is appreciated.

Christine - glad you liked it.

Christoph - thanks for taking the time.

It is probably one that I will print and put it up in my office._

Dramatic and foreboding landscape. The furious waves crashing against the rocks and the lonely tree being swept by the wind are the most salient elements that convey the intense atmosphere of your composition. The fragile leaf in the foreground makes such a contrast against this scene. Fantastic job as usual.
